New Dronist in Milton Keynes

Hi all,

Just about to land my first proper drone after a dabble with toy ones.

I have over 30 years experience as an R/C Aeromodeler with my model flying club. I am also a BMFA member for since 1992. (B certificate holder)

Was playing with the idea of an Air2s for its photographic prowess (flown article 16 under BMFA) but pretty convinced the Mini3 pro is the better route for over all compliance.

It seems a minefield of issues out there but the pros seem to out weigh the cons!!

Let’s fill the sky folks!!

Hi Nick - welcome to GADC :+1: :+1: :+1:

Air2S and Mini 3 are both great drones. More widespread options of where to fly with the Mini 3 but slightly better photographic/video performance from the Air2S - tough choice but one only you can make.

My choice - get them both   :joy: :joy: :joy:

Yes, it’s because of the rise in drone activity and incidences etc that the CAA felt that all UAV action should come under one umbrella in 2021 so we all have to cough an extra £9 now £10 extra beer tokens a year on top of our usual running costs.
My initial thoughts was grrrrrrr, flippin drones!!!
But I have come to appreciate their place in society and while I had flown helis ( very taxing) somewhat along with my fixed wing aircraft, I have realised that the current drones are superb photographic machines. Easy to operate and built in safety and intelligence adds to the whole experience. Who doesn’t love a gadget too eh!!
My life long hobby of photography and model aircraft can now merge together and I feel a good drone-ship will add to my enjoyment of both interests.

The fact that you have to be cautious and plan where you can operate just adds to the intrigue!!

@Clickernick Hi Nick welcome to the club happy flying
