OK
Not mine I’ve seen it advertised on-line for £395 +VAT
I’m currently doing the online course from UAVHub (was Icarus) for free. Once that’s complete then I have the option to do a day of classroom refresher and then the flight test for mony. It’s a reasonable course if you are happy to work in isolation and do your own reading.
Is that PFCO ?
No I think he’s talking about the GVC
Ok cool, I may still do mine, GVC I mean later on in the year as I think its one of the ways I can keep flying and then get a new classed drone next year, I am not stopping !
Is it me or have the MM’s become cheaper at late ? maybe they are lowering the prices to get rid before the new “class” stamped ones arrive ?
Think you’re right there
No. I think I’m talking about the PfCO
At least that’s what I’m studying.
I’m not sure if it’s cookies or a hidden url but when I post the link to the ad it contains a form with all my details. So you will have to cut and paste the link into your browser

I were going to goout and buy a MM this week but held back after posting on here, now I think I did the right thing, I just want a small folding drone that I can carry in my pocket, light small semi stable and low cost, MM I would be scared of losing it ! FM combo still £469.
Okay let me know if you go ahead with the purchase
What is it your wanting to achieve with it?
I think the MM is out at the moment as just can not justify the price with all the uncertanty out there ate the moment, I think it will have to be the cheaper option as I believe “if” the MM is not excempt under the new 2022 A3 then the value will be nil due to the rules and quality of flight and camera, dont want to upset anyone by saying this by the way it is just an opinion I have given alot of thought to.
Just to be able to use my drone as a safe and responsible human that cares more for wildlife than anyone else around them does, adheares to rules and saftey and to be free to take it to the lakes for instance and film the family up the honister pass in the motorhome, go to the beech and fly and post to facebook and as in past had great responses from forums on there etc.
Family and scenery I guess ?
From a drone, half decent picture quality, half decent range 300m ish and able to take on my motorbike etc.
Lol I am not the kind of person that wants to travel the 2km anyway I do like the MM
Just found this, its a bit older but may help us “try” and understand a little more ???
Seems to suggest under 900g drones will fall into A1 with online training and online test…also suggests that no electronic serial number will be required but also has the suggestion that no categorized drones are for sale yet so the 2 years between 2020 and 2022 gives the manufacturers chance to catch up.
Ie sell us new now called “UAV’s”
Just posting anything that I think may help.
This is all I could find Watch this space as they say I’m sure they will come up with something UK specific
Thank you for sharing that the author had a good grasp of the situation
I guess the truth is how close can you go to most buildings without encounter people
@iGo-droning yes he did seem to be able to “de-code” it well.
I think (a guess !) the rules are going to be when set out.
Under 250g no camera. Same as basic hobbyist rules are now but must be registard.
Under 900g with camera. Same as now but must be a new drone with a cat number, what I call the 50m rule 30m take off 50m structure, new cat marked drone and geo, safe mode,3mph etc.
Either 2 of them if you want to fly nearer people do CofC next step GVC
Over that class electronic track and GVC or CofC upto 25kg but with certs.
They say PFCO as long as you keep up to date will basicly excempt you and your drone from the classes and new/old etc but I think in 2022 they will give yet another transistional period so migrate to GVC and add sub cats to it.
Good news will be that anyone of us will be able to do a course if you like to get closer to people not involved and hold some papers to say that, we will be covered by ne EU rules again that nake it easier to prove we are safe to be there and allowed.
Bad news is unless we buy a new drone, pay for training and throw all the stuff we own away now then we cant fly…
They have made these rules as so the drone has a id saying the class and you have a qualification written, that way a bystander in a fancy dress outfit can read on his phone what the rules are and tell you off if he or she thinks you are wrong and the manufacturers get a second shot at making money, they have not even decided on the rules that they are enforcing yet.
So glad we are out of the EU !
