New flyer from Newcastle upon Tyne

My name is Steve. I’m from Newcastle upon Tyne. I got my first drone for Christmas from my daughter. I’m learning as much as I can about the drone world. Every night I trawl through drone videos on YouTube.
My only experiences of flying drone are my 2 outings with my drone which because its winter were too windy for my little toy. I will upgrade in time to a sub 250 DJI or similar that can better handle the wind. Mine is a cheaper fixed camera 4DRC F3. Certainly not as good as its advertising which my daughter took as gospel but OK to lean the basics on if I can get a near enough wind free day.
I look forward to chatting with you all.

I started with a Holystone 175D which had a poor Wi-Fi signal but was a great first drone to practice with until it flew away. I splashed out on a Dji mini 2 combo. Haven’t regretted it for a second. It’s a fabulous little drone and currently with few flying restrictions. I was at St James park recently for the FA cup match v Cambridge United. That would have made some fantastic footage were it legal to fly above crowds. By the way, Newcastle is a fabulous city. Can’t wait to go back.

Yes that’s what I’m planning on doing once I have enough money which being on long term sick atm, won’t be for a while. I really fancy the mini 2

Same here Steve, the wife bought me the mini 2 and trawling through as many youtube videos on it. Nice to be part of the community

The original mini is pretty cheap (in comparison) at the mo and will probably continue to drop in price. It’s still a cracking little machine and deffo shouldn’t be overlooked if you’re on a budget.
The SE has just come out too which is basically the original Mini but with the upgraded Mini 2 motors afaIk.
