Been flying about a year now, all FPV. Started out on bind and fly analogue tinywhoops and I am now thoroughly obsessed with digital DIY Li-ion toothpicks and cinewhoops, always trying to sneak in under that 249g limit
The main thing I am struggling with is the spotter requirement for FPV, so I am hoping to find a few people near me who would be up for meeting and flying as a group. More than happy to spot for anyone else who needs a pair of eyes as well. So give me a shout if you are anywhere nearby.

Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.
There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.

Not a true FPV flyer but there was a group a few months back at the Furnace that were doing some FPV racing in the football field next to it - so there is a group around these parts. No idea who they were I was just in awe of the speed of them haha
I often go around near Boothorp Lake to fly around in the open space around there - some woodland there too to make things interesting for FPV - very rarely see anyone other than a dog walker now and then.
Nice to meet you! Will look out for the local FPV group. Only so far outside of private gardens, flown in field next to Tunnel Woods, will try out Boothorp Lake thanks for recommendation.
Have you had any issues with passers by regarding drone flying in the area?
I need to have a look at Tunnel Woods - have ridden though there but never flown. As for Boothorp Lake and the quarry area and the land that you access from Gorse Ln I have never had any issues. If its with the Avata I generally will land and wait for them to pass then get back up - there is a massive area near the Hall that is also good for a bit of a play around but in general you will see the odd dog walker and they move on. Some nice benches around too to sit your gear down and just get on with things - not overly exciting from a video point of view but nice to just get air time.
