New goggles and Mot controller for the Avata

That never took long, new goggles and new motion controller. Although this Motion 2 as it is called was probably originally designed for the Avata, just Dji wanted to get rid of all the original controllers they had stock piled first. Cynical mešŸ¤£.

Anyway, thereā€™s changes to the goggles, some good some not so good in my opinion.

The controller looks way better, more manoeuvrability options. Really looking forward to getting my mitts on one.
If youā€™ve bought the pro view kit or the fly smart combo youā€™ll have a voucher in your emails that you registered the drone with. 60 quid :+1:

The controller is on Djiā€™s site for 159.

Hereā€™s djiā€™s YT vid.

Another little vid explaining whatā€™s new and whatā€™s gone.

Ahhh so these are the ā€œcheaperā€ V2 goggles without Bluetooth and WiFi and smaller FOV. Meh. I still like what they did with the avata and head tracking. Would love to try that. Used the original motion controller once for 5 mins with the potato and very easy to use. Nice to see they continuing with that makes it so easy to fly

Yeh, Iā€™m happy with the original goggles 2.

The controller is great some people donā€™t like it but as you say itā€™s dead easy to use. Now with the extra movement capability it should make it more on par with the Cont. 2, without manual mode.
Itā€™s going to be interesting using head tracking with the extra manoeuvrability .
I was going to wait, but the urge got the better of meā€¦so I ordered one

Yes, I got the Ā£60 off coupon too and took the plunge and ordered the motion controller 2

I was worried that I had clicked on a scam email - it appeared to come from DJI and the link did take me to my account - it hadnā€™t had the coupon added there yet, so a little suspicious and went back to the email - it had several hundred addressees which is unusual - ran a virus check and no issues - then when I went back to the account the coupon had now been added
I suppose in my enthusiasm I forgot the adage - never click on email links

Me toā€‹:+1:. 60 quid off from Dji and get my original on fleabay as soon as for about 60. Means Iā€™ve got the new one for around 40ishā€‹:+1::grin:

Iā€™m def getting one too, looks promising for mounting onto my gizmoā€¦.

Looking good your gizmo, I was having a gander the other weekšŸ‘.

Good idea that because sometimes I can end up with controller facing at an angle facing down, and Iā€™m non the wiser. I have to try and keep in mind to tuck my elbow into my hip, instead of extending it outwards slightly.

At least with your gizmo you have a fixed pivot point :+1:

Might look into into making a gizmo myself.

It all came about on my second flight as I instinctively held the controller pivoted on my knee while sat in a deckchair,

Iā€™m yet to test it out in the wildernessā€¦

I like that bitšŸ¤£.

Iā€™m sure itā€™ll work great looks a great bit of kit :+1:

Let us know the outcome when tested.

Will doā€¦.

Back in the dayā€¦.
