Looking forward to learning a few tips and eventually getting the best out a fantastic bit of kit.

Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.
There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.
We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Welcome once again!
Hi @Rampage and welcome to Grey Arrows. What drone did you go for?
I’m fairly new to drone flying myself but my best advice really is to just get out there and keep flying. A lot of it just comes down to confidence that you’re not about to lose your very expensive kit out of the sky Once that’s mastered, it’s very straightforward.
I also recommend AirData as you can autoupload your flight logs which is useful for learning what went wrong if you crash (I believe you get a discount if a GADC Silver/Gold member but AirData also have free tiers available).
Also watch out for trees and seagulls, who have a particular dislike for drones and will sometimes murder it out of existence given the opportunity.
Enjoy it!
Welcome to GADC @Rampage
Good morning & welcome along @Rampage
Hi @Rampage and welcome to GADC
Hello and welcome
Hi mate, welcome from the Black Country
Hi @Rampage and welcome to the GADC
Welcome
Thanks for the welcome and tips so far everybody, @Jhdee @Hotrodspike @AltitudeWales @TheBinman @Kirky @Onanist @Raider @FoleyMrs @medwsc
@AltitudeWales I went for a Mini 4Pro and sent it up on it’s first flight this morning. Nervous of it going out of arms reach at first in all honesty, but once it was up at 80m I was really impressed at the quality of views and how quiet it is.
I suppose it’s all about getting some time in to get proficient with the controls and what to expect etc and then start to try and blend that with filming scenes and photography.
Luckily not many seagulls near me, but I’ll keep out of the way of the ones that do venture nearby, but it seems fun so far.
Welcome to the club @Rampage . I’m in Derby so not far away
