Hi, I’m relatively new to using a drone. I have a mavic air 2 but don’t really know where to fly in my area. Is anyone in the area that has suggestions of wants to meet up?

Have you seen our members map? (Click the burger-menu in the top right) You may find some pilots living near you. Feel free to add yourself to the members map too :+1:t2:

We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the #questions-and-answers category.

Thanks, I’ll take a look at the interactive map. I’ve used drone scene but there’s not a lot near me. I think I just need confidence to use it.

I did get permission from air traffic control tonight and flew it at my work.

Thanks for the advice and I’ll look into it a bit more

Hi Ed. I am not far away - in Bishops Stortford. You say you got permission from ATC, are you at Duxford or Cambridge airfield? I sometimes volunteer with Classic Wings at Duxford. Would be happy to meet up somewhere suitable. Also, if you get ATC permission, I would be interested to know where and perhaps come and join you for a drone flying session. Stephen

Hi Stephen, I’m in Cambridge airports enhanced warning zone. It was really easy to get permission. I would be happy to meet up, there is a place I could try just off the A11 at Abington. I can get permission from the land owner but it’s not somewhere that can generally be used. That is just on the edge of duxford warning zone so will probably need permission off them.
