Just to introduce myself, although my user name is Stav my proper name is Stephen.
I looked at several clubs websites and liked the look of GADC, as it has so much useful information and resources especially for a total novice like me!
I have taken and passed the CAA Flyer ID. Yay!
I’ve not purchased a drone yet but inching ever closer by the day! I am torn between the DJI mini 4k fly more bundle or the DJI Mini 3 with the RC controller.
I am looking forward to learning more and getting involved.

Regardless of “the best drone”, you have indeed found the best club. All DJI drones are pretty good kit, and they all do a good job. Forums however?
Welcome aboard
I’m in Ipswich, Where are you located? I’ve just ordered a DJI Mini 4 Pro and await delivery either today or tomorrow. I’m a complete novice have considered doing a online flying course. I’d like to take the CAA Flyer ID as well. If you have any tips, I’d be grateful of the advice.
I’m near Harwich. So not far away.
Excellent news. I am very attracted to the DJI mini pro 4 but its just too much of a streach for the hobby budget at the moment. I thought about the DJI mini 4k to start. However, I am now tending towards the mini 3!
Other than nephew allowing me a brief try one of his cheaper drones!! I have no flying Drone experience at all.
I looked at the CCA Drone section read through it a few times and then plunged into the test. It was easier than I thought and I only got one question wrong. I would say go for it. It’s free, you can try as many times as you like and you can research the answers while taking the test. I actually found I learnt a bit more as well.
I see you can get the A2 cofc traing through the GADC at a reasonable price but that is only valid until 2026, as i understand it. I think I’m probably going to stay sub 250g for a while, but as you say the knowledge would be good to gain.
Hi Stephen @stav and welcome aboard the GADC. This is a really great community to ve part of. I am pleased i joined last year. Everyone is really friendly and helpful.
I have the Mini 3 Pro and its a great little drone. If you get one i am sure you wont be disappointed
It is an impressive drone to be honest and i havent used all the features on it as of yet either.
YT channel link is on my profile if you fancy looking at some of the videos ive managed to record with it and also some photos, they are far from professional but can give you a little idea on what you can do with one
