New member - North Wirral

Hi all

I’m completely new to drones (never flown one but do have one ready to go - DJI Mini 3 - UK0).

I’ll be honest I am completely overwhelmed by all the various information I have been reading on line regarding where I can look to legally and safely fly in the Wirral. I do hope the friendly members on this site can help me start my voyage correctly

Hope for those that have been out in the glorious weather recently have been enjoying it.

Also if there are any local meetups I would be interested too.

Cheers
Rob

Welcome! Enjoy :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
If actively flying your drone I’d suggest ‘Drone Scene’ maybe an essential part of your pre-flight checks. Though, full functionality of ‘Drone Scene’ is available to Gold & Silver members. Another ‘Backup App’ I use to check on airspace restrictions is ‘Drone Assist’
I’m a Gold member and consider the benefits (for around £2 a month) Incl. £5M Insurance cover to be great value :eyes::man_shrugging:t2::smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.

There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.

We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the Questions & Answers category.

Our Bronze Members are able to enjoy a lot of great services for free but our Silver and Gold Members are eligible for a whole lot more! Read all the details about our Membership Benefits?

And finally, if you are new to drones and wondering what it’s all about, have a look at Resources for a beginner.

Welcome once again!

Thank you all for the lovely welcome. It is appreciated.

Are there any members that live in Wirral or near Wirral that would like to message me directly on areas that are known to them that are easy to do a beginners launch and do it legally and relaxed?

I am to be honest still perplexed at the SSSI’s surround the entire wirral and would love to have someone assist me with finding a good starting location to take off from whist getting great views from the camera and in an open space away from public (or minimal public around anyway).

If I’m thinking correctly that to message someone directly on this club forum I need to be a Gold Member too?

Update: Just joined as a gold member

Cheers, Rob
