Welcome, Lee
Lean in to it… it’s a cracking drone
Its done. I pulled the trigger and purchased a DJI Mini pro 4.
It will arrive on Monday
Hope you used the member-discount at Drone Safe Store
Unfortunately not, but I did get a very good deal on a reconditioned unit
It’s an excellent bit of kit, you won’t be disappointed
Hi Lee @L33roy1x - welcome to GADC
Great stuff. You won’t be disappointed. Got one myself and it’s brilliant.
Hi, I don’t know whereabouts you are in North Yorkshire but there’s some nice places to fly in the Dales. I once enquired with the National Park Authority and they said they have no problem with people flying drones in the Dales as long as they abide by the drone code and don’t cause a nuisance, which is good to know! There’s a footpath map online showing all the public footpaths in the UK and it’s apparently legal to fly from them. I’m sure someone here will correct me if that’s wrong! Try around Askrigg (I had a flying lesson there when I first got my drone), or Semer Water or Ribblehead Viaduct for nice open spaces well away from people. Avoid Malham Cove as they have nesting Peregrine Falcons there, and avoid National Trust land. They also have an online map so you can see where they are. Fortunately they don’t have much property in NY. If you’ve not flown before start by practicing basic manoeuvres, flying squares, circles etc to get the feel for it. Don’t forget left and right depend on which way the drone’s facing! Have fun!
Welcome to the group, great choice of drone
Thank you Graham,
That’s some good information. I live just south of York and yes will be heading to the dales once I’ve had some practice
I was sort of aware of Malham Cove and the National Trust restrictions as this was on my hot list, until I looked into it.
Hi @L33roy1x Lee and welcome
Sign up to the @group-yorkshumber and keep an eye on the meets section, quite a few of us meet up very regularly and often venture over the pennies to the north west contingent too.
I’m not far away from you over near Goole, but work in York
Thanks Chris,
I have joined and will keep an eye on the group. I’m only 20 min away from Goole.
What Chris means, he turns up
Sorry Micheal , string word ‘work’
Attends much better
I was a complete noob when it came to drones!!! Bought a cheap one and left it some 50 feet up in a tree after a rather spectacular decent😠
I went through all the forums i could find and finally bought the Mini 4 pro and have never looked back, my only regret is not getting enough time to fly as much as i’d like
