Hi all, name’s Stuart and I have recently joined the ranks of drone pilots. Flying a Mavic Air from Sholing and have to say I am loving it so far, not to mention being very glad to be outside the Southampton (well… Eastleigh) Airport FRZ. Would love to know if there are any clubs around Southampton to meet other local pilots? All the clubs on the BMFA list seem to be purely planes/helicopters or racing FPV?
Anywho, thanks for having me, I will most likely be lurking for a while!

A significant number of our members also own a Mavic Air … so you are amongst good company.
If you haven’t already, take a look at the Map of Members and you’ll see there are a few other members in your neck of the woods, some of whom I’m sure will come and say Hi.

The forum’s search functions are a very efficient way to find previous threads and posts that might already have covered topics in which you are interested in learning more or answer that niggling question but, when this doesn’t turn up what you’re after, there’s a wealth of knowledge amongst the members, so ask away over on Questions & Answers.
Also, if you’ve not seen it, check out our map of places where members have flown in the past … which, obviously, doesn’t necessarily mean they are still OK to fly and, as always, any pilot needs to check that everything’s OK before flying at any of them.

I’m just glad I’m outside the airport perimeter fence … just! 
None that I’m aware of.
We have had a couple of local meetings, and I’m sure there will be more. Keep an eye out for one.
Welcome to the Club @damastes. It seems that is our biggest problem… looking for somewhere to fly. At least on the coast there is plenty of open space.

Sounds like a plan, plenty of space along the waterfront. Netley abbey ruins might make for some good shots as well.
