Completely new to drone flying, although I’ve been flying flight sims on computer for years (I know it isn’t the same!) Got the bug after flying a friend’s DJI Mini3 with twin stick.
Recently bought myself a DJI Avata with the Goggles2 setup (and their joystick controller) and absolutely loving it. VERY easy to fly and have fun. Pilot for about 4 hours now.
I’ve joined the club to see if there are other members around Cambridge to fly alongside, or to get recommendations where to fly (or not to fly).
Any flying tips from FPV owners (especially Avata) or photographic/film experts that can help me get amazing shots, would be VERY welcome.
Have you seen our members map? (Click the burger-menu in the top right) You may find some pilots living near you. Feel free to add yourself to the members map too

Hi Dave and Welcome I live just outside Cambridge not sure if you have seen but i entered an entry on drone scene for the Burwell Castle and there are a few others
Cheers
Chris
I recently joined the club, and close to Cherry Hinton area.
I have a DJI mini 3 pro.
Would love to catch up and probably discuss potential flying areas. I flew near granchester along the river few months back and had a good flight overall
Good to hear from another flyer. I’m just off the Cherry Hinton Road, and have been looking for decent places to fly. I’ve got a DJI Avata with the Goggles2 and the joystick controller - such a great piece of kit to fly!
I’m certainly up for meeting and doing some flying, now that the weather is getting that little bit better.
I’ve done a few drone meets with the club also, but they are down in the London or SE area, so a little far to travel.
