Newbie from Bridlington, where shall I start?

Hey!

I am 31 and moved my life to the East Coast / Bridlington from Norwich! So I thought what better time to buy a drone and go into it head first as a complete beginner.

I have a DJI Mini 5 Pro and I have flown it once (only got it a couple days back)

What do I need to know? I have the operators ID and flyer ID (people told me not to bother but… I did!)

What do you wish you knew as a beginner? I am really excited for my journey. I am a content creator and I am hoping to bring something fresh to my content.

The one thing I wish I knew was how expensive it was going to get. People on here keep posting things I want but don’t need but buy them anyway. Someone posted today about stick extenders for the RC. Yes, you guessed it. I just ordered some!

Flying a drone is great fun but sometimes you feel the need to have a purpose for doing so and the Challenges category provides some great reasons for you to fly.

There are regular challenges which are open to all, that attract members of all abilities. Support, advice and constructive criticism is freely available; still photography, video and the techniques for editing both are involved in the challenges. Suggestions, for subjects or for complete challenges, are always welcome - take a look in the Challenges category for more information.

We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the Questions & Answers category.

Our Bronze Members are able to enjoy a lot of great services for free but our Silver and Gold Members are eligible for a whole lot more! Read all the details about our Membership Benefits?

And finally, if you are new to drones and wondering what it’s all about, have a look at Resources for a beginner.

Thanks Chris! We have some lovely stretch of coast I am just a little confused at the moment on where I can / cannot fly! I’ll get there. Thanks for being kind!

Haha I don’t think they even realise it’s law!

I’ve already purchased a backpack that has slots for the drone etc haha! I have the DJI osmo camera and I think I have every accessory. Damn, I need to earn more money:rofl:
