Hi there, new to droning, don’t even have a unit yet. Been offered a Mini 2 for £400 but wondering whether to stump up more cash for a Mini 4 Pro. My main interest is in photography. A question, are the cameras fundamentally the same but with more sophisticated processor / better sensor / more advanced algorithms? Cheers all.

Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the Questions & Answers category.

Hi bushhouse,

Welcome to GADC, there are fundamental differences between those two drones, the Mini 4 Pro has a far better sensor and produces photos at twice the resolution of the Mini 2. You can see a comparison here : Consumer Drones Comparison - Compare Mavic Series and Other Consumer Drones - DJI should you wish.

As for if it’s worth it, that’s something you will need to answer. We don’t know your budget or how easily you came by that cash :slight_smile:

I’m sure you know that the Mini 4 Pro has 360 deg obstacle avoidance, that the Mini 2 does not have.
It can keep you safer as you learn to fly, but I leaned on the Mini 2 and never hit anything :wink:
As @RestlessZombi has said … it’s a choice only you can make

Just stumbled across this video with a reputable YouTuber comparing all the mini DJI drones, maybe worth a watch it was only put up 13 hours ago.

@bushhouse Welcome to GADC. Its all a personal thing, as you are a keen photographer and if you have the funds I would go for the Mini 4 Pro. Although the Mini 2 is a very good starter drone I think you may find you start wanting the extras that the Mini 4 has quite quickly.

Welcome. I would recommend the M4p. 400 for the 2 is too much. The camera is far better

Thanks all. Think I’ll sell a kidney and opt for the Mini 4 Pro. Just looked at a nice Mini 2 for just under £400 if anyone is interested ?

£400 Can get you a fly more Mini 2 anywhere brand new :person_shrugging:

I recently sold a Mini 2 Flymore combo I really good condition for £200, so £400 does seem a bit steep
