I have been flying Heli’s and planes for ages (poorly), which has left me nervous when the drone gets too far or heigh. So far I have done 120m and about 300m away (which I would never do with a heli), slowly starting to trust my Mini 2 SE. It does what it says on the tin.
This was a birthday from the wife and kids, but I can see a 4 pro in my future.
300m is probably the furthest I can maintain VLOS, unless the kids are with me

Hi and welcome. It’s a small world, I have a mini 2 SE and am in the South East. There are some great places to fly, namely Hoo Marina, Upnor Castle (both near Rochester). Also along the Thames near Dartford, Rainham concrete badges etc. etc.
There’s a meet up soon at Knockholt (a disused golf course) which is a great place to practice.
Hoo Marina: Don’t know this one
Upnor Castle: I saw this from the land side, last time I flew the sub. At the time I did not stop, but it looks interesting.

Hmm, not thought of that

Hi, Good to hear you’re having fun with your Mini 2 Drone, It’s pretty much the one that we all start with and upgrade once the addiction takes over.
I live not far from you, the other side of Welling and often go to Knockholt and Hoo with bmsleight and other mentioned above if you want any info on getting / flying there.
You should visit Lesney Abbey on a sunny day, its near us and it’s a nice place for some images or videos should you be looking for a quiet day out.
