lovely photos, especially the “Squadrone” one at the end
not a sign of GADC Merchandise !, you shall be held at “The Tower” for being traitors to the GADC Cause !! LOL
Considering the altitude we were at, I couldn’t believe there was no wind! Not sure how @kvetner pulled that one off, but he did us proud with the weather today
Great meetup guys, wish i could have been there too…!
Some great pictures there chaps, glad the weather held out for you.
@stevesb
Thanks for the mug
I really appreciate that.
sorry I never found time to chat
Oh yes! Thanks from me too Steve, I’ve been drinking tea in it all evening
By the way, did anyone else notice how quiet the props on @KayKay’s Anafi were?
@SputnikTheAirDog what are the black lines on either side of your photo there mate?
I thought they were shadows at first, but it might be from the props due to the low sun? Not sure
To be honest I have no idea.
I hadn’t even noticed them till you said.
Doesn’t appear to be in the second pic - probably just from the props
as I live local, me and the mrs went back early evening.
we went up to the first site and it was full of young people sat in their cars as if they were waiting for something, what I don’t know.
We headed down to the Yarrow reservoir (our 2nd spot) we spent an hour there till I got bit to buggery by midges.
Sorry for late upload video from today my first upload on YouTube
With thanks to @ kvetner who was flying the other drone seen in these video
Hi @kvetner apologies could not make it, had my first commercial job on Saturday so was editing most of Sunday, looked an amazing day and fabulous pics, will certainly make the next one!
You know I’m still in 2 minds about sticking an airport in about that light aircraft.
Thoughts?
Not sure about mentioning the plane Steve, maybe they could come back and say we should have put in a Notam for flying in the area, may open up a can of worms.
Mark,
Hope your commercial job went well for you.
@stevesb @barryb I had the same thing whilst doing a commercial on Saturday, Notams checked, Nats Drone flight logged day previous too flight and there it was a light plane flying at approx 250-300 ft AGL, CAA sure put the rules on us, but are they monitoring other air users? it was not in my range i.e. 500 mtrs, but that’s not the point.
PM you some shots for feedback @barryb
Steve - I was also wondering about this. Outside urban areas, am I right in thinking that there is no minimum floor for an aircraft, but the requirement is to keep 500 ft (150 m) from people, vehicles and structures? The viewpoint car park is around 200 m from the edge of the reservoir, so they were sufficiently clear of us, but I can’t see how they could have been high enough above the vehicles on the crest of the dam.
If it was me, I would not put in a notification because of the can of worms that will be opened, but it does seem that there is a real risk of an incident occurring where low height flights take place.
