They look like spektrum receivers.
Yes, cheap clones of the Spektrum DSM receivers.
Not that common in the quad world but were popular with Aeromodellers (the fixed wing guys).

The two boxes work as a pair, one gives the power and PWM connections to the model, the other (with two short wires sticking out) is the ‘antenna’ bit.
I’ll see if I can get some information on the one you have
