Had a 5am start the other morning to catch the sunrise on my Mavic 2 Pro at the River Clyde in Glasgow. The panos are 3 images stitched in LR. The first image is my particular favourite, it was -4 and freezing but well worth the wait for the colour to appear on the horizon.
Stunning collection John Well worth braving the sub zero temperatures
Awesome
As usual - a cracking set of photos John
Thanks guys @SirGunner @Trailblazer @Jhdee
Cracking shots, any tips you are willing to share how to get similar results, did you use any filters? Long exposure? Hdr?
Cheers, I’m OK with dslr photography but totally new to drones
Cheers

Thanks I don’t use filters for photography whether it’s with my drones or DSLR’s. I aim to get the exposure right in camera but will then spend a bit of time in Lightroom and Photoshop to bring out the best of the RAW image. The pre dawn shots were very slow shutter speeds, around 1/5sec at f4 or f5. The last two images with the sun in them are manually shot HDR’s. I usually take about 5 or 6 images, adjusting the shutter speed each time, keeping the aperture the same. These are then processed to HDR in Lightroom.
If you are fine with DSLR photography then you’ll be fine with drone photography, it’s just a flying camera Once it’s in position and you’ve framed your shot, just think photography…like it was on a tripod rather than in the air
Cheers for the info, much appreciated
No worries I see you are a Mini 2 man, as it’s a fixed f2.8 aperture you have one less thing to think about. If you keep it on manual and try to shoot at 100iso, all you have to do is adjust the shutter speed to get the correct exposure. The Mini 2 is a very capable drone. Here are a couple of images I shot on my Mini 2 last week. The only additional thing I had to do was to get the GEO zone around the stadium unlocked.
Mini 2, 1/400sec @ f2.8, 100iso.
stunning photographs lovely colours well done
Thanks @denden
Great photos John, not so sure about choice of team though
