It was just how she phrased it, I’ve heard licence as well.
Might wear the lanyard tomorrow, show off the ID’s, tell everyone I’m here under official goverment business.
They’ll probably believe me.
Tell them you’re working on behalf of the local planning authority conducting a site survey for an immigration relocation centre
just turn it around and screw it back on🤷
I’ll take my impact driver along, just in case it’s sat in resin.
you could apply a liberal amount of resin to the front face while screwing it back in place… nothing was stolen… just added to
Genius.
Now you’ve ruined it…
I agree & don’t forget to burr the screw heads so it can’t be turned back around
I’m usually one for sticking to the rules… but in this case. the ‘rules’ seem to exist only inside the head of whoever stuck up the sign. So…
That’s your answer right there… “Sign? What sign?”
The last time I flew over a park (same scenario -part-time football pitch and dog-walkers favourite), I asked the present dog-walkers if they would object…
The dogs clearly didn’t, as they jumped up in joy and covered me in mud
I would add that you choose a location for TOAL where dogs are less likely to run over your drone even when it is static or switched off - they tend to be curious beasties (not the drones…). I have practiced hand-launching for this reason, though I’m probably more of a danger to myself than anyone else or their dog.
It’s in a really daft area, behind the area you would be standing. Wouldn’t be surprised if someone not working for the parish put it there.
Me too. I’ve seen people catch them when they land. To be honest, I’m happy to go when quiet and not to be TOAL near dogs. It’s too distracting anyway!!
When possible I also like to tell people that the drone will not come near them and if their dog is bothered then I will stop or move further away. Just like you, I find that people are intereted. Yesterday we were flying and I had more interest in the drone etc. One person was asking her mom for a drone and I mentioned GADC. There is the odd one you will come across but rare. Most people ignore you or are interested in the drones.
I think that’s good practice to ask anyone if they mind you flying near them, most people are interested in what your doing.
It makes it good for the drone community.
Unlike certain people on YouTube who go out of their way to annoy people and give us a bad name.
Ergo they should ask before walking their dog in front of you .
Sorry it’s just not practicable, and what if they say no
Which is where the auditors get their clicks
I was thinking about the same thing today, it’s probably assumed that this area is for dog walkers, but it isn’t. You get families there, older people from the care home, staff etc.
And we still have an issue of people not picking up dog eggs before football matches.
I only spoke to 2 dog walkers as they were close by and it was very quiet. If I went on a busy day I would spend more time having this conversation.
I agree courtesy works both ways, you’ll always get the odd person who’s like that.
If you look confident, have a lanyard around your neck and a hi-viz vest on people tend to leave you alone.
If you do get a Ken / Karen asking you why you are there just tell them it’s planing permission and council tax checks but you are not at liberty to disclose any information
