While we’re on the subject of maps as this is also new to me, when tethering is that 4G or just Wi-Fi to your hotspot, sorry to ask ……
Is done by BT, WiFI or cable
but the RC may not be able to cable tether
So I’m out with my phone & I want maps, my phone is using BT & pairing to the Wi-Fi connection on the controller ?, so your saying this is with any network, even if your with Vodafone for instance ? You’d be using BT, if so I did not know this, that was why I’ve asked.
yeah you can do it with any device, like your laptop or a tablet or even a phone with no sim card in
I use a cable to download maps from my pc to my RC. if it does that shouldn’t it be able to tether with a cable whilst flying (phone to RC)
I don’t know, you could test it and let us know
Quick question… I downloaded a map of an area to it’s maximum box size. When I clicked the map in the download section, only this size appears. Will it appear to it’s fuller size when I actually fly in downloaded map area?
It is limited in size, I’ve recently bought a N1 controller for my Mini3 Pro and use Drone Tweaks version of the Fly App. I’m using an old Samsung S10 with the N1 which doesn’t have a sim and connect to my iPhone (hotspot) for maps. Works well for me.
I’ve downloaded offline maps when I’ve been on holiday in the U.K. Never had a problem with loading them once at the area I want to fly in
