PS. I did upgrade to the latest v1.03.0400 and then reapply the patch.
Lol, did you think we hooked you up with āFrank the Coatā from Spitalfields Market or something?
I think the first one i got in touch with was āFrank the coatā
Worth highlighting for future people - not sure what has changed.
I have messaged Sincoder to try and clarify if upgrade is OK or not and I have a response direct from the horses mouth.
Me - āI have your FCC bypass applied to v1.03.0100 which is working perfectly but there is a new firmware update v1.03.0400 and I just wanted o check if it is OK to upgrade and reapply the patch to the new version or not?ā
Sincoder - āReinstall before upgradeā
āAnd you canāt downgrade after upgradeā
Me - āWhen you say reinstall do you mean reapply the patch and then upgradeā
Sincoder - āYesā
Me - āJust to clarify before I commit. I need to apply it again before update but will it also need to be run again after update?ā
Sincoder - āYesā
Looks like it can be done just no downgrade option afterwards. I am just trying to work up the courage to do it
I should add that I have it applied to the DJIRC on v1.03.0100 not the Pro!
I updated my controller which had the patch but didnāt know you had to reinstall before it upgraded and I get an error now and cant work out how to downgrade the software.
When you say get an error is your drone bricked? Or will it just not apply the patch any more?
It just wonāt apply the update to the RC, everything else is appears to be working although the RC seems sluggish after the firmware update but iām guessing that is a DJi problem.
Quick moral
Never update DJI firmware unless you really have to (even then wait until itās tried and tested)
This
Ah so there is an upgrade on the patch, I assume.
So re-patch 1.09.0100, then upgrade to 1.03.0400 then re-patch 1.03.0400
Not sure how many would know that.
Not wanting to confuse the situation, Iām wondering if these steps is for the RC PRO as well, as thereās an update ( which Iāve not done ) for increased screen brightness, or that is what is on the FW update list from DJI .
Probably wise to do it, I would say - or check with Sincoder first.
Definitely donāt do it, wait and see what others say
Is what I thought, Iāve messaged him to check procedure, thereās no hurry so Iāll wait till he gets back to me, would I be correct in saying the patch Iām running now is still ok as it is, even if thereās a different one.
What you are running hasnāt changed and as long as you donāt update nothing will change
Sincoder wonāt know what DJI are up too till its too late
Itās a cat and mouse game, wait till itās been tried and tested by others and be careful of advice thatās not correct
Thanks Wayne
Not updating
At least till I know the score, my patch is working fine with the FW Iām running, so Iāll leave until I know otherwise for the updated ( screen brightness ) etc
Many thanks for the input ā¦ā¦
