From the message he sent me it will it just needs to be applied twice, once before the update and again after.
Let us know how you get on
@MasterYeti sorry I thought you was referring to my earlier post for the rc pro,
Which is completely different as @SparkyFPV mentioned the other day further up the thread.
So I can confirm that I have updated my DJIRC and reapplied the FCC patch with no issue.
If you choose to do the same just make sure you do the following:
-
Download the latest version of the software from https://www.dji-fcc.com/djifcc.zip (the version I got from this link had a file modified date of 18/06/23)
-
Re-apply the patch using the newly downloaded djifcc.exe to your controller on the existing software version (mine was on 01.03.0100)
-
Open DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) and update the software on the controller to 01.03.0400
-
Close the DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) and run the djifcc.exe again to apply the patch on the new update.
-
Enjoy the FCC unlock on the new version
N.B. The djifcc.exe does not like being run in quick succession and depending how eager you are will give you a popup saying wait a while before you can run it again This is not just for this version, I had the same thing when I ran it previously. This time can vary, some places on the web say wait 5 minutes, I had to wait 2 hours but it will eventually let you complete the patch again.
Thanks, Martin for the detailed installation procedure
Glad it work ok
I just run it 3 or 4 times and all is well. I have never waited a long period of time.
I can confirm the above procedure works exactly as described. There was an anxious couple of hours waiting due to the running too many times in quick succession issue but all good now.
I do wonder if this is the beginning of the end for the hack though. Hopefully sincoder will find a work around for not being able to install from scatch on the latest firmware version
Paul
Worked for me too. Thanks for testing it out first.
Great post Martin very informative and easy to follow much appreciated.
I messaged sincoder last week heās now working on a patch for the RC2
Iāve downloaded a copy of the 01.03.0100 firmware for the RC, is there a way to install this back on the device? Canāt see any options through DJi Assistant
What version are you on now and why do you want to change it?
I made the mistake of updating to the 0400 so want to roll it back to try and fix the fcc patch
You cant
This is what DJI does they increase the Anti-roll back value which means you cant downgrade
This is why we always say donāt upgrade
Damn, they must have changed something as iām sure in the past iāve seen options to downgrade. Thanks for confirming.
They have increased the ARB from 0 on all the other firmware, to a 2 on the latest
The reason and the only reason is to stop the exploit
You canāt rollback the firmware. DJI has put anti rollback on the 0400 version.
Description of AntiRollback (ARB) here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpLOqlKQ0BI

well I also got stung by updating before I checked here (lesson learned). why do DJI bother though.
so, any way to defeat the downgrade check?
failing that, is sincoder working on a patch for the new version?
Hi @_gl, it looks as though youāre quite new here
Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself.
nope. example āforce_fcc onā. thatās all you need.
