I have sent mine to be repaired but at DJI is in the Netherlands its being held up because of Brexit and sitting in the port and has done so for 7 days now waiting for customs to release it on its way. All paper work correct just a problem with sending stuff

Hi, i don’t want to upset, but here is my situation with battery cells ordered in last few days of December from The Netherlands

Hello
Please can you advise re delivery of this order
DPD tracking information shows it was returned to you without leaving the Netherlands.
Please can you locate it and re-ship to me.
Thank you

Hi Steve,
Unfortunately because of Brexit the shipping companies have difficulties getting it over the border. We’ve received about 200 packages back while all the right export documentation was included with each package.
We’re waiting for an answer from DPD. We hope to let you know as soon as possible
Kind regards / Met vriendelijke groet,

Have had same issue in opposite direction. Tracked and signed to Italy posted on 6th, hasn’t moved since the 8th despite CN22 and all docs in order.

Am utterly furious with how hard it is to import cheap items from Europe now. And massively more expensive too. Already dozens of sellers (don’t blame them) decided it’s not worth the bother shipping to UK. What a predictable shambles :frowning:

Interesting comparison.

For years now, I’ve been buying needlepoint kits from a small US supplier (small = just her working from her house) and doing her regular on-line classes. She ships all over the world without any problem and her classes attract world-wide participation.

It’s sooooo complicated to ship to UK that even a tiny business in the US can manage it.

The thing with customs charges, yeah, been like that for ages. I have been sourcing specialist embriodery materials from USA for years now as you just cannot get a lot of the stuff in Europe, and you just factor all that into the price.

It’s really easy to ship with a CN22. Small items under the threshold from the US always were frictionless.

The new VAT laws applying to the EU are what make it a nightmare now. HMRC are forcing vendors to collect the import VAT. Even if they still ship, most vendors are simply increasing prices to allow for the additional labour.

It’s not just that you have to factor a bit extra in, it’s fundamentally changed the whole trade nexus. This change screws us all whether we’re buying batteries from Germany, props from China or needlepoint kits from the US:

@PingSpike

Hi Rich, looks like this is heading for a thread of its own :laughing:

What did you vote out of interest in the referendum ?

Do you want to bring politics into this?

Do I need to fetch some popcorn?
