I tried again many times without luck. Is there a way to clear any historical account data on the device or reset to factory default? this allow me to start the process again.
I know you can reset the device once it has been activated; the problem is now when I try to input my preferred account details it keeps returning a message saying incorrect password. And the original password I used I can no longer remember
Logic tells me if it has not been activated submitting new details should be possible!
I have gone to lost password, however with no activation I am unable to send an email as I am not registered with DJI help line
I should explain this is my first day with my new DJI 4pro so clearly I haven’t a clue.
It was all going very well until I requested activation.
I
I had this many times with the Mini 4 Pro, incorrect password time and time again.
I was swearing at the controller that it was the right password, i could log in to dji site with the same password, i ended up doing my password backwards.
I am guessing you have an account with dji,if so i would log into that and see if you can change password there
That was me yesterday, I have returned the Drone / RC 2 Control plus mini 4 pro back this morning and request Amazon to refund or replace with one with the correct Firmware. It was so frustrating saying passwords were incorrect\ username/ it literally took an hour to reach the activate button. Then the dreaded ACTIVATION FAILED. So this morning at 3.am to be precise I decided to return the lot and get my £950 back asap.
Crazy thing is, I still what one. Surely there should be a fix for this issue. I thought I was going daft. My Wife said "What you mean you THOUGHT
Likewise firmware updates to the controllers happen moderately frequently, too. Chances of a new one arriving with the latest already installed is quite … remote.
The world isn’t perfect.
Should the new one need updating, there is an alternative method of updating which can prove more reliable by using your computer.
Someone will be happy to talk you through this should you wish.
Thanks, I have returned this product because like most buyers I will purchase my replacement DJI mini 4 pro from DJI because they have better resources to supply a fix than Amazon
Thank you for your input.
Even if you buy direct from DJI, they are not shipping from the production line. The box will have been shipped from China to the European distribution centre, and then perhaps to a national distribution centre, where it will have sat for however long before being shipped to you to satisfy your order.
All of that can have taken a few months during which one or more firmware updates (to either drone or RC … or both) can have taken place, meaning that when you receive it you’ll still need to perform the relevant firmware updates.
Amazon will never supply a fix. Amazon ship boxes. Any “fix” will come direct from DJI in the firmware updates in precisely the same manner as updates are installed for one purchased direct from DJI.
I’d add that had you not returned in such haste …
… that might easily have got you up and running. But that window of opportunity has now passed.
Hi - I know this is from an old thread but I’m struggling to update because the RC2 is telling me there is insufficient space in internal storage (even though I have cleared cache etc). Can you explain the alternative way to to the firmware update using the computer? Do I need DJI assistant 2?
I’m about to do a factory reset because I don’t know what else to do but if I can do the firmware update without it that is probably better than having to set everything up again. Any help appreciated.
I don’t have the DJI RC2 myself, but Google tells me ..
To update your DJI RC2 controller firmware using a computer, download and install the DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) software. Connect your powered-off controller to your PC or Mac via a USB-C cable, power it on, log into your DJI account, and select “Upgrade”
OK thanks. The other problem I have though is that the controller wont connect via USB for some reason despite trying several cables - it connects then disconnects repeatedly. So I think my only option now is factory reset.
