River Soar at Zouch - Added to Rivers and Canals in East Midlands

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

For the image I was using my DJI mini 2. It’s just outside the East Midlands Airport FRZ. It is still in Class D Airspace, so you’ll need to confirm that you’re aware if you’re using the DJI app.

River Soar at Zouch

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

Parking next to A6 bridge, cross the road and short walk over the bridge weirs to the meadows. It's quite pretty all the way to Normanton.

Can be busy with dog walkers and fishermen at weekends.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 20/01/2023. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

I am pretty sure the footpath across the weirs is closed at Zouch at the moment. There was certainly a barricade across the path about 2 hours ago. Although I couldn’t see it clearly as I was on the river kayaking and not on the footpath. I think there is some work being carried out on the big radial weir by the Canals and River Trust. There should be alternative access to the fields by the new bridge works on the other side of Zouch.
