PS I hate Sunday drivers. i was following a XC90, stopped as he was crawling. took some footage, and caught him up, without speeding.

Genuinely beginning to wonder if this is actually possible East of Exeter and South of Buxton! Going to have to get creative!

It’s surprising how many buildings there are in the middle of nowhere. 99% of my photo’s had a building in them from my flights on Sunday, most of which i only spotted on a large screen as i was looking for one to post. :grin:

Absolutely. And the higher your vantage point - the more ‘droney’ the shot - the higher the chances of including one. I’ve been scouring Google Maps for suitable places and any vista I would normally consider a landscape will have several.

I’ll find something, I’m sure - but it’s likely to be a close crop of the side of a hill or valley, or a low angle over a forest!

Agreed - there’s actually a barn just out of shot in my pic

I haven’t seen any sun since taking this so I post now. I love how the sun setting shows up the Ridge and furrow archaeological pattern. I will be going back when we have more sunny days.

First entry for a while, weather and work has been against me, a short break up in Scotland gave me the opportunity to get some flight time in.
Stopped on the way to the Falls of Foyers as the water surface was as still as a mill pond, glad I didn’t stop on the way back as was the intention as the wind had picked up a little and the stillness had gone.

Ten pictures, not a building in sight - now it is time to pick the best of them. You can vote by selecting one, some, all or none of them - but do so by 22:00 on Monday 18th.

Voting is open to all GADC members!

@group-challenges

We hope you have enjoyed the pictures as pictures and not spent time pixel peeping to see if that different coloured spot wa-a-a-a-y in the background is a building or not. Save that sort of thing for the poor judges in the Birthday Challenge and treasure hunt who often get presented with just that situation - are those few pixels really the bonus item the competitor is claiming … ?

Back to the plot - we have a somewhat distorted winners’ circle this time as the top photos were only separated by a few percentage points. So we are declaring the third-place winner to be Jason @Acedrone who has shown us how the low sun brings out the archaeological details in the landscape north of Cottesbrooke, Northamptonshire.

We have two second-place winners, a colourful shot of the sunrise at Parbold Hill near Wigan by an early-rising Ady - @Leylo1971

and another sunrise after a steep climb, this time a shot over the ground fog from Glastonbury Tor, taken by John @YGTMedia

Our winner, just beating the previous three into first place is Mark - @markas who decided to forego the early morning alarm cal and take his shot of Loch Tarff at the (more sensible?) time of 11 o’clock to take advantage of a temporary lull in the wind to capture a perfect reflection

Well done everyone, thank you to all who voted, to all who went out to find isolated places with no buildings to be seen and congratulations to our four finalists! See you for the next one, open now
