RTF Photo and video - Subject suggestions invited!

The problem may be that there aren’t so many cooling towers left. It may be a fair distance to travel for some people to find a surviving one or two.

You beat me to it

Only mentioned cooling towers as Willington is about 5 mins drive from my house :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: ( whereas the seaside is at least 92 miles away)

If cooling towers appear in the birthday competition, we will know where to come :joy:

I would like to suggest “Unusual Homes”

Can I suggest “Brutalist Architecture,” “Scrap,” or “Wabi-Sabi,” as possible inclusions next time the list is produced?

Thanks for the suggestions!

We have ugly buildings which, depending on your point of view might be thought of as brutalist architecture but yes, we will put it in as a separate topic.

Scrap - as in discarded material rather than two blokes having a pagga?

Wabi-sabi, That’s a new one on us. Mr Google says

Wabi-sabi is

a Japanese aesthetic and philosophical worldview that finds beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and simplicity. Rooted in Zen Buddhism and the tea ceremony, it teaches acceptance of the natural cycle of growth and decay, encouraging appreciation for rustic, weathered, or flawed objects and moments.

We’ll give it a go …

Yes scrap as in scrapyards, shipwrecks (oooh, there’s another suggestion) etc, rather than any pictures of fights

Whats wrong with this one, at least I’d have shed loads of opportunity being in the middle between Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Stoke!

Ditto Blackpool.

How about education?

(probably without kids :joy:)

Could be problematic depending on the images created.

Pictures of Oxbridge colleges or their red-brick equivalents would be ok. Images of primary schools could cause hassle at the time of taking for the photographer …

This one will go on the back burner

Where I went in my early twenties has now become Lunn University
