So... what's on your bench at the moment?

James and Bobbins might come if allowed? But it’s your field. Sorry. Tipsy.

Sure thing, there are quite often the odd walker on the footpaths :+1:

Let me check the flight planner and see if any other club members are booked in, they often are on Sunday.
Only supposed to have one guest.
Best time for the gang would be one evening :slightly_smiling_face:

You mean the hundreds of foam bits when I wreck the wing, again

It’s ok. I haven’t even asked them yet lol. Don’t worry. It’s not their kind of place.

I’m pretty sure you’ll suss it out. Looking forward to chasing you :+1: :+1: :fist_right:

Prototype 2 stereoscopic quad. The first one had wobbly cameras and is now in pieces.
This one has a more clean video. Strapped to my 5". I’ll test it at the weekend.

Looking good mate
Have you hovered it yet?
I tried putting a rod with hook (guess why :slightly_smiling_face:) on the front of a quite powerful F550 Hex.
Couldn’t get the damn thing to launch level :slightly_frowning_face:
Cheers
Steve

Yeah I hovered it in my garden. Both cams where stable. But the RHS was blurry. So I adjusted its focus. All good now.
I get a hunch that when an object is too close, it’s like I need reading glasses.
But the stereo vision gives a little peripheral vision I think.

Maybe a hand launch? Any pics?

Hi @Nidge.
I went to a race meet on Monday, and gave the stereo fpv cams a try on my 5" before everyone turned up.
It’s definitely 100% more realistic. I’d say from 2-20 metres, you can get a real sense of awareness.
The thing that surprised me was how well I could judge the distance between the ground and a rugby post crossbar.
It’s hard to describe in words, and obviously filming it would be useless.
If you have time, give it a try.
The important thing i’d say if you’re trying it yourself is to line the two cameras up absolutely parallel, and the depth perception really kicks in.

Steve. You can try it. Have your skyzones turned up? Or put your diopters in mine?

Neither :frowning:I’m thinking of cancelling and reordering from EU warehouse.

I like these type of posts. You have an idea and you put it into practice. The first attempt might not be what you expected but rather than stop there you keep going until you get what you want :clap::clap:

Unfortunately my goggles, Flysight SPX02’s, while having true diversity lack the ability to accept two different video feeds

Well done :+1::+1::+1:

Nidge.

I’m not sure if this’ll work, but I have a beaten flight controller, a bec and 2 servos.
Just waiting on 3d printed parts, but I’m trying to build a self balancing robot dude.

Just blew my flight controller up. Bah. Gyro not detected? Maybe I’ll try heat gunning it.
It was looking promising too.

I’ve got new ones in my ‘stock’ if you want to get back in the air quick :grinning:

Cheers Steve. But until I know why I bust it, I won’t risk another.
It’s my spare fc anyway.
I’ll have a scout for dry joints or hot components. Or shorts!
