So... what's on your bench at the moment?

I bought the prebuilt one - the advantage of being a late adopter

Setting up lenses can be a pain… you need to find a good ref point you can use (sharp edge/high contract at least 100ft away to get a chance to get it right)

There are quite a few known issues with the O4 lite - fragile mipi connection / narrow FOV - Flywoo did a good job fixing those recently.

That’s where I probably went wrong, I used a lens focus image on the large 65” TV in the lounge and stood about 20ft from screen to focus it.

I’ll have to find something more suitable, maybe a large sign in a car park or other public area

Going back a few years I was in exactly the same predicament trying to focus Parrot Disco Camera.
I came across a formula which may work with the 04 camera since the lens and sensor distance may be the same as an FPV analogue camera. The recommended distance was exactly 4.6M and the image to focus on was a laser point which I projected onto an A4 white sheet of paper on a door.
Here’s how it turned out…

Refresh of my first ever build (new AIO + 1 new motor) and migrated from a Walksnail mini to the O4 with the Flywoo mod. Stole an O4 Pro antenna to see how it compares to the small linear one on the Firefly. Also curious to see how the ‘mini’ M10 GPS will fare :crossed_fingers:

240g AUW with a 6S 550mAh battery running some 1604 - still one of my favorite combo

Managed to get a couple of test flights before the rain came in - all good apart from the GPS giving a grand total of 3 sats after 10mn+ – Oscar gives it a good review so may try to reposition but looks like it will more likely need to be upgraded

Stick it on an arm like the RC Antenna, different arm of course

I’ve got a 180size on the arm of my 7” and it works a treat

Not much success on there - arms must be too short and motors seem to also impact the number of sats. Got it back on the body but this time out of the carbon frame and now getting 15 sats :flexed_biceps: - which is better than I expected (this is a tiny M100  ) – it really did not like to be flush with the carbon

HGLRC M100 Mini - “approved”

What about trying a TPU mount, so the GPS module sticks out the rear of quad?

Something like this -

Here’s one that may fit your quad, however it wouldn’t take too long to remix it to fit yours.

Yeah - I have one of those - it was on before the refresh (with a ‘big’ M10 GPS and even a GPS Mate - see exploded pic of a cleanup a little while back) – I wanted to get rid of as much weight as possible (quad was nearly 280g with a tiny 14mm cam) as well as trying a ‘mini’ GPS and getting rid of the GPS Mate and as much TPU as possible.

I will run some more tests with the mini GPS - so small/light it could be added to some smaller quad - I have a 3" 3S toothpick/Firefly hybrid in mind that could beat some speed record

Unpacking a Hobbywing 20x20 ESC and they are shipping it with a huge cap and power cables soldered on and covered in insulation… What a daft idea - need to remove it all to start with :man_facepalming:

Moving the Super G 10 to a DJI O4 Pro – Took longer than expected to get there but I can see the finish line now

Somewhere amongst all this, is a Speedybee Master 3X quad.

Got the buzzer and receiver soldered in place and working, now it’s time for the motors.

Speedybee 1507 3600kv, will be fitted with GEMFAN Hurricane 3525-3 propellers.
