good question - thanks for the hint - did not realise there was two - I got it from amazon, so most likely old stock - pity, but happy enough anyways ![]()
thanks for that - I have the v2 actually - maybe I did not install it well enough
Who knew a few drones would make such great living room decorations - my wife is ecstatic (ok maybe not ecstatic but I have not been thrown out yet
)
With all that extra space on the bench now the assembly season can finally start in earnest ![]()
Wanna properly upset her, wall mount them ![]()
Suggested that to my other half and the language used in her response, is not repeatable on a public forum, it may offend. ![]()
This post will probably fit into 3x different threads a - this one
b - today I’ve mostly been…
c - show off your 3D prints…
But I thought this one maybe the most appropriate.
Finished adding the TPU parts to my GepRC 5”, hopefully it’ll give it a little protection and also enable me to spot it easier, if the inevitable does happen.
PS - you may need sun glasses
I’ve keeping them under my work desk… out of sight… out of trouble… out of budget evaluating eyes! ![]()
the side protection prints are really making this quad nice - looks pro! How much does it weight with the battery pack?
Thank you.
If you’re referring to the parts circled in Blue, they were downloaded from Makerworld to fit the Vapor DC5.
The parts circled in green, were already fitted and supplied by GepRC (along with a set of black ones too) when I purchased the quad.
As for the weight, I’ve not tried that yet
Got given this as a freebie by a mate
It’s an FTX Carnage with some parts broken and some missing but hey it was free ![]()
So I’ve bought these to make a start on its resurrection, it’ll have some upgraded parts along the way, including an O4 PRO system and a controller running ArduRover
Hopefully all done for the BM ![]()
Is it going to be lipo or petrol powered?
LiPo, I’m an electric guy ![]()
I have got a very old ‘Savage’ which is waiting a nitro to electric conversion but way down the ‘work list’ ![]()
Landing gear - rugged, tick
Space for lipo - plenty, tick
Props… damit, where do they go…?
new HDZero AIO (ESC+FC+ELRS) - featuring micropads… They are castellated on the board thickness as well but still ![]()
you’ll manage it ![]()
Now the weather’s improving, I’m looking at my crippled quads and trying to figure out which of my brand new spare parts were intended for which machine. Unfortunately, it’s fully 6 months since I bought the bits and I’ve done nothing to keep my hand/brain in the game since.
I have
- A fully dead Darwin Baby Ape with a fried VTX.
- A 4" FlyFish LR that flies, but I can’t get the GPS working. Rumour has it (IIRC) the current AIO doesn’t play nice with the newer GPS unit it is currently fitted with.
- An iFlight Nazgul V2 with brand new ESC and motors, and one motor that tests OK on the bench but spazzes out when I try to take off.
To be matched with
- GEP-F405-HD v2 FC (30x30). I think this is for the Nazgul.
- SpeedyBee F405 AIO (25x25 3-6S). FlyFish.
- An as-yet unpurchased VTX. Probably a Walksnail Mini Kit v3.
Also required
- Probably extensive retraining to remember how to do all this stuff.
- The enthusiasm to get on with it.

If I pull my finger out, I might get this done in time for The Big Meet. Or I may have given in and bought some sort of Avata by then.
(Maybe both.)
I know you are thinking of making the jump – I have been testing the O4 with the lens mod from Flywoo for the last couple of weeks - I must say I am super impressed - this thing is really next level compare to the Walksnail 1S/Mini (and not that much more expensive either)…
I am testing with a Firefly 18 - tiny thing with a couple of tiny whip antennas and I can go places where the WS would just not let me – without even a drop in video quality either (no smudge in the google feed what so ever - perfect vision of the tiniest branch in the way - I am still stopping just to admire the video feed ![]()
Then you have the onboard footage - 4K on par with the Moonlight and compatible with Gyroflow (and super easy to get off the VTX too - no longer need to plug the battery in
)
I cant wait to give the O4 Pro a go in the coming days
- but I would not buy another 1S/Mini VTX (Only keeping the WS for the pro cam quads for low light flying)
Did you buy the prebuilt flywoo O4 or put it together yourself?
I went for the self build and still not got the focus right yet.
