Sun out, drone out! First time in I think 3-4 weeks, or since #1 challenge. Blown of the cobwebs and headed down to the local solar farm Bridgwater, Somerset. Not been making to much over the last couple months.
Any one know if these give off any mag interference?
Had to calibrate my compass for the first time near these today.
I doubt it. The only time I ever get that message is something in the ground … the other day I discovered that there was a very old, buried, railway line beneath the tarmac.
a) move a few metres and you’ll probably find you’re OK, or - as I did -
b) take off … and once in the air it clears.
I had no issues once airborne … and I was flying way out over the sea.
Personally, I think there are more issues caused from calibrating to interference on the deck that fails to be relevant once in the air.
You can see the old railway line in this old pic …
I was where the train is in the pic.
Ah okay. Go4 has never moaned at me before, I put it down to where I was, and the electrical side of it.
Come to think of it … doh!
I guess this might have an effect? Car roof?
I’ll look into the history of the location in a bit.
You know - it’s so frigging unpredictable from obvious things.
I’ve taken off from the car roof OK … not the bonnet (engine probably).
Taken off from a seriously thick steel manhole-cover, too. Link
I only ever get it when I put the (still on) MP in the back of the car when I’m out flying.
I’ve also taken off from roof no issues
Thats my Geometric plan gone ;o(
opps! Sorry Chris, I did think these farms would be popular due to its straight lines so jumped out as soon as I could
Plan b, c or d me thinks ;o)
Acres of metal…
Yeah-but-no-but-yeah …. but as above.
It has been sat around for weeks without a battery in it, Could of forgot where it was.
