I recently (26 March) ordered the new motion controller for the Avata with the discount coupon. I received notification from DJI that my expected despatch date is the 27th April. Ok not so much of an issue as the times were advised… however… ! Last night I was online (Amazon) searching for some accessories and found the V2 controller available for next day delivery ! I have just wasted 40 minutes chatting with DJI sales who could offer nothing more than a load of fluff with ‘excuses’ that didn’t wash. I had identified my local distribution area was the same as Amazon which according to DJI any differences would affect times. There were no differences. This is my first experience with the DJI shop and no doubt will be my last as it seems they favour large re-sellers than point of sale loyal customers.
Most people tend to buy DJI gear from Argos, Very, Curry’s, Amazon, etc due to them having stock readily available with same day delivery.
Never pre-order a new product from DJI either. Argos will have it before DJI.com does.
The high street or online returns process is also helluva lot easier than DJI’s own 
Like I say this is my first time using the DJI outlet and usually I do order elsewhere however the voucher discount that was provided seems to have pushed us to the back of the queue. DJI always seem to do all the advertising and publicity knowing full well they don’t have the stock to fulfil the initial demand
That’s just China based companies as a whole.
I feel your pain. I too new about the despatch and delivery times, but thought no problem. Only to go on YT to find somebody had done review and also supplying a link to Amazon

If it hadn’t of been for the voucher off then I’d of cancelled with DJI and got it off Amazon.
I do normally buy from Amazon or Argos but 60 quid isn’t to be sniffed at.
It’s only a few weeks to wait and in the meantime I have a quite decent motion controller. I’m obviously looking forward to the extra whistles and bells on the new one but saving £60 and able to use my existing DJI store credits as well means I will be paying less that half the price of an Amazon customer
Its not the time or the credits it’s the principal whereby the big retailers take precedence over the loyal customers.
Is it not encouraging to see the Chinese adopting the teachings of Adam Smith?
Anyway looking after those with the greatest purchasing power - wouldn’t you if you ran the company?

With all that said, I ordered some Mavic Mini props from The DJI shop, and some from Amazon, fully expecting to get the Amazon ones first. The DJI props arrived inside the week - the Amazon props (DJI original), I am still waiting for those to supposedly arrive mid-April.
I have never had a problem with ordering stuff directly from DJI so far, but like any retailer they too are subject to runs on stock and supply-chain issues.
I do get what you mean, but I think this is a different situation. As said above Dji have sorted out the big boys first with stock on a new item, and left the peasants to wait. Whuxh they know we will🤷♂️.

Ive had a look on my Dji account and mine is labelled as shipped, not the 27th as previously stated.
So with any luck I might have it in a few days😁.

Thanks for the info … have just checked and mine now says to be shipped on 27/3/23 so it would appear my dates have gone backwards instead of forwards lol… When you have tried the controller let us know your thoughts. Thanks for the heads up (no doubt someone will moan because it appears as impatient

I’ll hopefully update, and get sorted tonight, hopefully tomorrow weather permittting I’ll be out flying.
One of the biggest things I hope will happen is when trying to loose altitude, eg down a hill flying close proximity, the extra joystick with the extra control, in conjunction with the motion control, brings it down quicker. The drone can plummet in manual, but it’s pants in that respect with the Mot. Cont.
We’ll have to see, but I’ll give you the heads up👍
Had a go with the Mot 2, all updated and what not, no connection issues.
Its really gusty around here so stayed in the garden.
All is good really👍, should be great having a proper flight with it. The only couple of things I have with it is

I was maybe under the impression the joystick down, combined with motion down would bring the Avat down quicker, but it doesn’t. It damn well caught me off guard last week switching from manual, where you can dive, to not being able to follow the contour of a hill going downwards with the motion controller. You can’t even adjust downwards speed in expo like you can the other directions. All I can think of is it’s supposed to be a safety thing🤷♂️.

If you have long didgets your going to find it hard having your thumb on the joystick while still trying to grip the controller while using your finger to accelerate!
Literally I had to have the base of the controller in my palm nearly, while stretching my thumb to the JS, while still operating the throttle with my finger. I can only imagine longer fingers and stuff making it bloody awkward

Anyway, all in all, so far, it’s a great update, the one Dji designed for the Avata, but decided to get shut of surplus stock of the original first.

Yes mine connected easily too. I took it up to an old airfield this morning to try it out but really much much too windy
Quick impressions -
The joystick gives extra precision for TOAL - the wind was gusting too much to try much more with it though
Accelerator - I need to change the reverse setting as just over 1MPH is no good to anyone
The FN dial worked well - definitely worth having
As you said this is the controller that should have been in the launch package
