So since joining a few days ago, it would appear to my small mind that most of the users of this forum seem to come from Doncaster - which is great, because I do too!
In my Welcome thread, it was suggested that now is the time to fly Doncaster Sheffield Airport, before the CAA slowly put restrictions back in place, reclassifying the airspace. Also, the weather is on the turn and my fragile fingers don’t like the frost.
I’m not sure exactly where the best location to take off would be, though I know the lane down to Doncaster Moto Parc (Loverose Way?) is usually pretty vacant and gets a good view of the airport. Otherwise, Hayfield Lane appears to be publicly funded, so open to adventure.
Anyway, we discussed this coming weekend (9-10th). I have wife-approval for a couple of hours somewhere over the weekend and I’m flexible on time/date. Thought I best post in here to see how many of you I can drag out into the cold with me!
I suppose that security at the airport might be interested in taking a look at what we’re up to, though I doubt much else would come of it, since the airspace certainly does appear open for use.
I would be more than happy to meet some of you guys down at DSA but I’m going to the Cenotaph on Sunday for 11am.
As you may have noticed I haven’t been on here for a few weeks. This is due to where I have been working, I also haven’t had access to a computer. I’ve been out with my drone and I have taken some aerial photos of the Local Steelworks
Be that wanker that give me a ticket when i pulled up in the wagon to ring the guy we was working for, 1 min 30 secs phone call, got it cancelled it was his boss i was ringing
I had the same problem, in 2017, when I worked for Biffa.
We had just won the waste management contract and they issued parking tickets to each vehicle, that made waste collections for around the first month.
I was able to get them waived in the end, because we told them we would put their account on stop if the tickets didn’t cease.
Wonder if the Air 2S could make its maiden voyage here, else I’ll stick with the mini.
