I have just read the canal thread above, glad to see it appears we are all in agreement that canals = no issue’s (subject to a large ship using it)

Thanks. I’m happy to fly there, again people can decide what works for them. The site in Ripley doesn’t afford 100% VLOS so I think we can rule that out, although I am still happy to go there if there is strong desires. Otherwise the canal / field near the canal are options, or anywhere else that we can locate in the mean time.
Thanks for working hard to fine a location that keeps everyone happy. I expect there are quite a few fliers with new xmas drones wanting to try them and get advice and help. The large open field you mentioned, with parking, is probably ideal for them and some FPV chaps ( bring obstacles to fly around / through). Those that have more experience can still pop over to the canal for a short side trip if so inclined. The field sounds like a good starting point / base

Just wondering who is still up for this, around 4 weeks away now. The field is located on Gapemouth Road, Surrey although I can search for alternatives if location isn’t suitable.
Still hope to make it if the weather gods are good

Is the field on the north side of the canal, Gapemouth Road seems to be covered in restrictions
South side, and no restrictions anywhere on the road.

Theres an area you can park by the field, its quite small but its rarely busy there. There’s not much else in the vicinity. Alternativey we could meet down the road in Worplesdon where there
is a bakery etc. Depends on numbers I guess. Theres 3 of us confirmed so far…
Do you have a Google map location or the W3W identity I can use to get there?
