Testing a new VTX antenna and remembering why I fly

I changed the VTX antenna on my Ranger T1 after some disappointing range results with the latest WS firmware. I got out to do a range test this evening, and the peaceful conditions and beautiful sky reminded me why I go out flying.
Just a beautiful evening to be out.

Are we allowed to know the results of the test?

It’s an embedded Side-Feed on a 1S WS VTX and this flight was much better than the last one.

I got out to 3+km on 1080, reg bitrate and reg framerate at 120m altitude. Even at that distance, I only had some stuttering, but on a wing it was nothing I couldn’t manage.

I was pretty happy, will also test with 720p to see what difference that makes.

What’s your antenna configuration? air and ground.
Antennas dictate range not power level numbers which are iffy at the best of times

In the plane I have a TrueRC Core Side-Feed embedded in the fuselage bottom, just in front of the battery.

On the VRX, I modded it to have 4 SMAs instead of 2 RPSMAs and 2 built in patches. I now have 2 triple feed patches on the top SMAs and 2 long stem Omnis (Cherries I think) on the SMAs where the patches used to be. The TX antenna is a triple feed patch.
