hello all i ,am first time drone flier from the gower in south wales ,i would like to thank you for rapid delivery of my identity card i,m well pleased
i presentley have a dji mini 2 se loveley little piece of kit i,m presentley looking for places to fly locally i,m restricted close to home for practice as i live quite close to swansea airport

Hi @richie3 and welcome to GADC. You’ll find that most ATC are very accomodating when it comes to flying in their airspace, as long as you get in touch, ask permission, and fly responsibly. Get in touch with them and provide a map of the area you want to fly, let them know you can reduce/ cap your height to whatever they deem suitable if it allows you some flight time close to home. But to be honest, once you’ve flown close to home so many times, you’ll find yourself wanting to travel further affield

i know the weather has been blydu aweful hasnt it i,m not that far away from gorseinon i,m just over by the airport i have been looking for spots to fly around the estuary out over the marsh
Have a try from Penclawdd at GG’s car park. You’re outside the FRZ for Swansea airport so you should be good to go flying out towards Loughor bridge. Just be careful of the seagulls- they hate drones. If you get attacked by one the best answer is to go straight up - they’ll leave you alone for a little while but they will come back so stay alert for the little gits 
I’ve got some contacts at the airport - when I get home later this week I’ll dig them out then you’ll be able to get permission to fly within the FRZ
