A windy and somewhat murky day and a sat nav error saw us abandon our initial destination, and instead chanced upon this wonderful place, affording the opportunity to capture it with the AIR3 - despite the winds!
An interesting structure with far-reaching views into the huge quarry, and across the upper Dales landscape, and only a 3/4 mile round trip from the car park - although a fairly steep walk to be honest, especially for the unfit…
Lovely, as ever. Superbly thought out and framed.
Always nice to see videos from “home” (I grew up in Nidderdale). The old lime kilns at the bottom of the hill is where my GEPRC Crocodile Baby met it’s untimely end.
Thanks, it is stunning countryside around there, bleak but beautiful… The Lime Kilns were interesting, but the winds were just too much for the AVATA, so I didn’t give them a fly…
I’ve filmed there a couple of times, the lighting inside the massive quarry can be quite stunning and the big dumper trucks are cool. One thing to look out for if you do go yourself is the low flying private planes that also seem to enjoy looking into it quite frequently.
