Tonight’s sunset not too bad but managed to catch 2 couples out for a walk among the natural pools left by the outgoing tide.
Can’t believe a morecambe gull didn’t try to take the mini 2 down knowing what aggressive little b’stards they can be.![]()
Well just had my first flight and was very nerve wracking! Just felt so alien and unfamiliar being in control of something so high up! Was only in the back garden so not the best location in terms of space
Great shot Simon, the nerves are good, we all started somewhere and I’ve only been flying for 2 years but I still get pre take-off jitters ![]()
Youngster, hasn’t had his drone training yet.
Second quick flight up yesterday to check out the sunset. This is looking to Manchester City centre. This is just a jpeg. I’ve yet to stitch some bracketed photos together.

These were some shots that I got from a quick trip to Snowdonia last week
These are great. Need to get practice in flying so I can get some good shots in sept on holiday in Wales.
Love piccys. Did Crib Gogh, last Sep, didn’t bother goin to Snowden Summit cus queue was a mile long from the Pyg /Miners track Col ! Scared stupid but loved it! Goin back this Year to do Trefan North Ridge and the Glyders. ![]()
Bit of a thunderstorm today, so thought I’d have a play about with intersecting masks in Photoshop (my new-learned thing for this week).
A wee excursion (1,000 mile round trip!) to the head of Loch Fyne (Location of Fyne Ales Brewery) for a 4-day camping beer festival at the weekend. Had hoped to take many more, but I was rarely feeling sober enough to contemplate. ![]()
These were taken on Sunday afternoon as things were packing up and the vast majority had already departed (evidenced by the tent markings in the camping area, gaps in the car-park and camper-van areas).
Shame I never managed to take some pics when it was heaving, also some at night when it was totally buzzing!
Couple of photos from a family picnic at Harthope Valley in Northumberland, first time we visited yesterday, a beautiful tranquil valley, directions we followed weren’t great, be aware you may need to negotiate a small ford and the valley road is a little bit rough in places …location added to drone scene
Going to use the Daily Thread as a test reaction to some potential entries for the current RTF now we’re limited to one entry (and to not clog the thread with multiple photos to make it a PITA for the committee)
1st up.
Kingsbury Oil Terminal. The largest in the country.
