Had a little fly around locally, took a couple of snaps…

The priests college in Upholland. Real shame about this place, depending which way you look at it.

There has been abuse mentioned, I don’t know any in’s and out’s and don’t wish to comment. But I have childhood memories of this place in it’s pomp and glory, It was always pristine, with a 9 holer at the back, allotments and peacock’s running about. I think it was finished in 1888, built from stone that was quarried only a hundred yard’s from the site (which they turned into a Bithells landfill site). Jonny Vegas was once a pupil.

Next, Upholland parish church. I was confirmed here, served here and my parents are buried in the graveyard here. There’s lots of rich history about this place dating back 700 years or so, beginning life as a priory.

Our holiday base for this week, Shepherds Cottage, a self catering cottage on the outskirts of Galashiels in the Scottish Borders, looking forward to exploring the area and weather permitting flying to my hearts content, on the lookout for lakes and April calendar subjects.

Love that house / cottage, in the middle of nowhere, that would do me get away from the noise !

@Leylo1971 Ady, Looks like a Monday morn or Fri afternoon roof building session on the 1st pics and a quaint way of dealing with a gradient on the 2nd. :face_with_hand_over_mouth: Good shots :+1:

I like that mate it’s, simplistic and kind of symmetrical kind of :+1:

Like I say, It’s a shame.

Pikies or what not, have stripped, lead, cast guttering, copper etc. I only actually noticed the roof dipping today when I was in post. There’s been multiple planning situation’s for it, but all gone west. It is listed, so what happens? The x caretaker, told me it would take tens of millions to restore, nobodies going to spend that…

Why? Height?

Globe Point, Leeds
Located at the entrance to the temple district, globe point is where temple begins.
Behind is where one globe square is being constructed and will follow the contour of globe point.
The side buildings look bendy as taken with wide angle lens , M3P
