Early start today. Woodside ferry terminal 164 tonne linkspan removal. Getting all of the big noise done by the time the local businesses opened.
@milkmanchris The problem with me is that I don’t normally edit photos and I have a philosophy that original photos are the best. The photos of Sandall Park, I agree that there’s not much light at all, I went out with the drone on a very overcast day so this didn’t help anything to do with the light. I’m very sceptical about editing photos, but I do get where you’re coming from. Especially for low light photos
Road Trip to Scammonden Reservoir 11-11-2024
Photos taken via DJI Mini Pro 3. One of the original photos is edited as I have been playing around with the photos
@Binman I flew across the water and back again
Just a quick levels change
The modern cameras are fantastic but it’s still a machine thinking what it sees looks right
Does anyone else get fed up with not having enough daylight hours to go and fly. I wanted some photos of the memorial now the wreaths are laid but I don’t know whether to do this now or make the decision to do it in Daylight
A couple taken at Aberavon beach in South Wales close to Port Talbot just after sunset.
Both of these were taken with a Mini 2, the first was using 1/4 second ss with ISO:400 and is looking west towards Swansea Bay.
The second was taken with 0.8 second ss ISO:800, facing east , looking at the steelworks dock cranes.
Both denoised and processed in lightroom.
Nice,
That mini 2 of yours is still doing its job well,
Love being down @ port talbot
Editing photos is all about checking colour correction, exposure, saturation and sharpness. Something that cameras rarely get right in Auto mode. Todays modern cameras are very good, but don’t always get it right. Even going back to the darkroom days of black & white, photos were manipulated by dodging & burning. If you want to get the best out of your images then you need to shoot in RAW and these need to be processed.
It is, every time DJI release a new model I think is now the time.
Been out with the drone again and I have selection of photos to share there are some which I took this morning at Barnsley Main Heritage Group and then some that I have just literally come home from taking with the drone again
Taken on 12th November 2024

A site I could see from my bedroom window growing up in Whitby, great shots
Thanks @yorkie9668 Mark. Looking forward to editing the footage over the next few days. Fabulous place Whitby.
Yes certainly is, I left in 1984 when I joined the Merchant Navy and sadly never returned to live there, still in North Yorks, just nearer York now
Was going to call into York, on my way home, but time, weather and the traffic dictated otherwise!
Most of my Ancestors come from Whitby and there’s a few still out there, love the place
Your village was always near Leeds
Funny how they all say near York, better for house prices I guess
