Yes couldn’t get much closer or I would have had to cross the main road …. Sorry
Claiming 2 points (park view and then the bandstand is in the middle of the lake).
DJI mini SE, 17th Aug.
Peasholm Park, Scarborough.
- Park Life - a photo or video of activities in a town or city park (not a national park like the lake district)
Bonus point if there is a Bandstand
I notice that there isn’t a maximum video length this year.
But I will cut the 30 minute video down a bit
I would be concerned about the committee falling asleep whilst waiting for the 1.005 seconds of activity (I jest btw)
Handel’s Water Music get performed much or is it more like Wet Wet Wet?

Good place! 3 points. Did you have a coffee or anything from the farm shop?

Very busy mind!
“Err, which way to the hill fort again?”

Thursday August 17th
Grey Arrows Drone Club is officially 6 years old today!
The more astute amongst you and the old hands at this game will have noticed that the points total for the Challenge is a potential 94. So the more OCD amongst the Challenges Committee need to round that up to 100 for neatness and their own sanity.
What better way to do so than introduce a 26th subject, worth up to six points, to celebrate our Birthday and the Club’s growing success?
So here it is:
26. Birthday celebrations - host a party with at least five guests (and yourself). At least one guest must be a fellow GADC member - 2 points - You can advertise the meet with a post in here
- Bonus point for each person present holding a homemade GADC 6th Birthday Card (Drone Picture)
- Bonus point for a GADC 6th Birthday Cake with six candles (Any Camera)
- Bonus point for blowing out all six candles with the drone in one pass (Video from any source)
- Bonus point for all participants lying on the ground forming a giant 6 (Drone Picture)
Anyone is welcome if you are in the competition or not.
Happy to take more than one photo!
Ready Guys and Girls, sing song time "Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear GADC Team, Happy Birthday to you’. May there be many more.

I’m claiming 3 bonus points
- Castle built in 1090
- Castle flying a flag (2 if you look closely!)
- Entry on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skipton_Castle
A wee note of caution here, Ian
The only person eligible to claim points for any single meet is the person organising it. You could, for instance, invite that swine @macspite and four of your family and friends - your would get the points, not macspite:
- Birthday celebrations - host a party with at least five guests (and yourself). At least one guest must be a fellow GADC member - 2 points
Why do you think he’s trying to organise it?
As a non-participant (or judge) this year, if anyone in the Norfolk/Suffolk area needs a party guest then feel free to drop me a message. I’ll only ask for half your winnings…
4 points Paul. You have missed tonight’s leaderboard update so the points will show tomorrow evening around 19:15. We are chalking the points on the scoreboard now …
It’s the wording in the meetings category for the South West birthday meeting that is slightly ambiguous, Andy.
And you are lurking!
We know you are busy but surely you can find a little time to put up a couple of entries for old times sake
I call it observing…
I’m strictly a spectator this year but will be back as a competitor for the 7th Birthday Comp
Glad to hear it. The planning committee are already hard at work …
14. A Tower Crane - still or video
- Bonus point for slewing (spinning round) - video only.
- Bonus point if it has a suspended load completely clear of the ground - video or still.
Mini 3 Pro - 17th August 2023 - Bristol @08:29
3 points claimed
It is the middle crane in the foreground lifting a concrete item and not one of the other 6 cranes in shot!
Thanks for specifying that it was lifting a “concrete item”. After several viewings we were thinking that it was a sheet of A4!

Now an added challenge. A bit short notice challenge committee. I have two weddings this weekend. Barmaid at our local on Saturday and my stepdaughters on Sunday. How on Earth am I supposed to organise a cake, candles, 6 guests and, convince them to lie on the ground in a giant figure 6 ?
( would a wedding cake with half a dozen candles stuck surreptitiously on it do ) I can possibly arrange the drunk eejits in a figure 6
