How did they get there, if it’s an island?

It’s not an island, it’s a peninsular.
Look on Google Maps :man_shrugging:

Then how did it get the points? :slightly_smiling_face:

By man made bridge, a peninsula is nearly an island but is surrounded by only 3 sides of water.

Looks like land/earth/soil to me :man_shrugging:t3:

It’s like everything people look at things from one point of view, you can see the bridge from Google

:+1: fair point, open to discussion but I’m not the decision maker so I’ll just … :running_man: :running_man: :running_man:

1. An Illuminated Building

  • Bonus point if the building is illuminated all around (360 degrees) and not just at the front.
  • Bonus point if the illumination colour matches a capital-increasing inquisitor, once a trans-Atlantic ferry pilot.

Blackpool Tower

Two pics, from different sides to demonstrate it is illuminated on all four sides

I claim 2 points plus another if I got the cryptic clue correct for the colour ( it’s actually more vivid to the eye than the camera picks up :frowning: )

(from the original response to Stomper’s entry for Somerford Lakes)

Welcome to the judging team Stevie, sorry to sound surprised, we were totally unaware that you were coming.

Gentle hint - we prefer to examine things in 3D where we can, to get a better idea of what is going on.

Just scraping through on certain roads, Martin! Faint, but the light trail is there. 4 points

Brillaint

  1. Intermodal Containers - six or more (shipping containers)
Bonus point for more than 15 - Sadly there was only 13 in total on the train.
Bonus point for all one colour and logo - Tick
Bonus point for all being 40-foot dry freight (general purpose) ISO containers - Tick

Claiming 3 points please.

Shot with Mini 3 Pro 25th August near Gospel Oak Train Station London.

Next year we might try “any container that doesn’t have ‘Tesco’ written on it …”

This drone doesn’t do well in the wind. Worth a dji mini3 pro

  1. A Drone in Flight :heavy_check_mark:
  • Bonus point if has six or more motors.:x:
  • Bonus point if it’s not DJI. :heavy_check_mark: it’s a Hubsan x4
  • Bonus if its colour matches King Charles’ mistress’s wares. Maybe

Claim 1 point for a drone in flight
Bonus point for not a DJI
AND maybe a bonus for the colour

2 points please

So what colour are you claiming the Hubcap to be? Black?

And, if you had really tried you could have got a hexacopter for less than 25 quid off a reputable auction site - or eBay.

google maps

Is this an island?

Or this?

Or, because they are accessed by bridge does that make them peninsulas?

Can we put Somerford Lakes to bed, please. We have ruled that the submitted pictures each show an island. Points have been awarded,

That is final.

Sorry for taking a long time to decide on this one.

The problem being do we consider Blackpool Tower to be a building or a structure? To complicate matters the tower rises from a building underneath which houses the ballroom and other attractions. But the illumination seems to be of the tower only …

2 points awarded

And did you get the colour right?

We will all find out at the end of the contest :sunglasses:
