Deano solves !!
Tinkercad is pretty easy to use. As @DeanoG60 says, YouTube is your friend.
I swap between tinkercad and Autodesk 360.
Do the basics in tinkercad as it’s quicker then into Autodesk to round the edges and generally tidy it up.
Just wish it was easier to import .stl to Autodesk without having to mess with the mesh file to make it editable.
Took the Chimera 4 out today with the intention of trying GPS Rescue - powered up the drone and got a GPS fix, then GPS data stopped
Seems the BN-180 simply stopped working
As I already had a spare BN-220 I 3D printed a new mount ( the one supplied by iFlight only takes 18mm modules ) and fitted it - just in time for the weather to turn windy
Maybe tomorrow…
They don’t like wind much.
What motors did you go with on yours?
Mine were the 3000kv. Nice to fly though
I went for the 3800kv ones - nice bit of oomph
Nice
Wasn’t quite sure where to post this - its obviously not my drone but it definitely crashes - a lot
Probably the best drone review I’ve ever seen - can’t stop laughing
Thats a hoot!..just need an airfield full size to fly it!.
The official name is an Ornithopter.
I’ve literally just watched Steve’s video before logging into this site, and I think this has some potential. They are quite complex machines to get flying reliably but this one when in the air looked very realistic.
Excellent. I seem to remember having a rubber band powered ornithopter when I was a kid. I think I’ll stick with those.
Tried GPS rescue on my DC2 tonight - worked well despite 12mph crosswind. Came back pretty much directly over takeoff point and started descending - the location wasn’t ideal for testing its autonomous landing capability though so I took back control at 2m altitude.
Spot the point where I flicked the failsafe switch
DJIFPV, throttle stick tightened but still not in acro… This is my 2nd pass, 1st battery today… Thank goodness for the BEEP BEEP BEEP function. Only damage was a nick in the prop and i didnt even change it out. Flew another 2 full batteries on it. MAX speed was 62mph.
Surprised no damage tho. Roll on Tuesday when i will have 7 batts to get over confident with
Acro. Break that speed record!
It’s coming😂
Shit man you fly better after half a bottle of whisky than I do completely sober
