I’m not sure how the use of these delivery drones will reduce the number of lorries on the road?
The goods still need to be delivered to a distribution centre of some sort, where they will be repackaged for distribution to the consumer.
If this gets the green light, it may reduce the number of delivery van drivers on the road.
How is a drone going to ring a doorbell to let the consumer know there is a delivery?
What happens if I live in a block of flats with only internal access via stairs or a lift?
Never mind the impact that uk weather will have on flight conditions. No one will get a delivery between September and May
Agreed
How will a drone deliver to somewhere with ‘uninvolved persons’ within 150m ?
How will they fly over crowds to deliver ?
How will they deliver somewhere with a lot of trees ?
Believe me… just like BVLOS, everyone said, it wont make any difference, nothing has changed… ha ha… and I dont count those who said “I’m just going to ignore it” so not even a mention of CAA as it is already all agreed with them one assumes…
Anyone want to buy a few drones… !
Moved your post to the thread where this has already been discussed.
It’ll be fine! They’ll spend the money from the failed HS2 project to build another to-fail project. At least they won’t have to worry about demolishing houses to make way for track.
How much tonnage is a drone going to carry compared to a fully loaded artic ? Can’t see this making any difference to road traffic in the slightest.
It’s basically HS2 in the sky.
And that turned out well, didn’t it?
Let’s hope it gets cancelled
I drive tankers and if I carry 29 tons of sugar so that’s going to need a massive drone lol
HS2 was out of date and obsolete before they even acquired all the land and this will do nothing except through money away
It’s like everything these days that’s planned. New buildings, new schools, new roads. You get a cost to build/ realise the project, then after a few months, the costs start to rise. Before you know it, some project has gone £2million over budget. More meetings and 3 months later, the cost has gone up another couple of million.
It’s madness, if you quote the job then that’s the price , the way they do things is insane as like the so called energy market if anything at all happens somewhere in the world or for that matter might happen then the prices must go up . A month or so ago the Polish farmers got the hump big time because cheap Ukrainian grain was flooding the market and undercutting the price yet the food prices keep increasing .
Ok, so everyone again is missing the point, the first thing they plan to do is say they need to clear the skies of hobyist drones for their plan to work, we all know that is crap, whether they actualy go ahead with the actual project is neither here nor there, the CAA have been told to clear the skies, using this Highway in the sky gives them something of an excuse… wait and see… you have been warned… again… ha ha. Cheers
Ahh so the CAA are clearing the skies 165miles at a time ?
Its a start I’ve ben told… you have to start somewhere, its like the 400Mhz freq plan they had used for wirless microphones, ofcom were told to clear all radios off this freq, no one belived it could happen as there were litteraly millions of users, two years later it was clear and radio mics are now on a diferent frq, cost Gov millions and now in use for some UK GOV venture… as i said, wait and see, then we see whos laughing… not me… ha ha… Cheers for reply, at least one person read it…
