Steve, I’ll let you know if they try and charge soon as I’ve just applied to east Mids ATC for permission to fly within their FRZ. I await their response tomorrow… 
East midlands are normally pretty good. I’ve had a few dealings with them in the past. My quickest response from them was 10minutes
Well, I emailed ATC there yesterday. Still to receive a reply. I reckon it’s gone to their spam box 
Struggling to get anywhere with poor mobile data but I thought you can usually unlock these through the app? But I’m giving no option even though the zones say they can be unlocked manually through DJI.
Any idea what I’m doing wrong here?

I believe there is a facility in the app. I recently used it in Vienna where local restrictions limited height to 30 mtrs. I got approval and unlocking in about five minutes.
As per previous post, this didn’t work for this zone. I’ve done it several times before for other zones.
And then what? The outline didn’t fit any CTR, TMA or CTA in the area so unclear which airport to contact. There was a TMA above but that again that didn’t fit the shape of the zone and it only began at 3000ft. The DJI app wouldn’t even say what the restriction was and there were no relevant NOTAMs.
Whenever I’ve unlocked an area in the past, I’ve been unlocking a custom zone. Always the DJI Flysafe site asked me to upload the permission from ATC. However, since then, I’ve found out that by applying to unlock the whole zone ( blue on DJI Maps, not the red areas) I can get permission via Flysafe within a few minutes, without uploading any ATC permission. However I wouldn’t fly in these areas without first seeking permission from ATC.
( as an experiment I unlocked the EMA blue zone on DJI maps ( red on dronescene) within a few minutes by getting the whole zone unlocked( I didn’t actually fly there whilst it was unlocked ))

So it’s not all on Drone Scene including the red zone I am having issues with.
Anyone know how to unlock this authorization zone?
