Unlocking DJI Fly at Doncaster airport

Hi All, I have a potential drone job around Doncaster airport, it’s a red zone on Drone assist but the telephone number for the airport isn’t working. Has anyone flown in this area and who did you get approved from? I need this to submit to DJI fly so I can get the area unlocked. Thanks

DJI removed their restrictions from there a very long time ago, please update your firmware and flysafe database.

Here are the numbers you need:

Thanks, I’ll look into that. The latest firmware for the mini4 pro hasn’t gone down to well.
I updated firmware only a month ago.
Really I just need to test the water (air) in a different red zone to see if it’s working.

If your firmware and flysafe databases are up to date you’ll see that DJI only prevent flights / require authorisation in two locations across the entire the UK now, both of which are the King’s places of residence.

These are both available to view on Drone Scene.

Many thanks

Its the Flysafe database you need to update. Firmware is a totally different thing.

Thanks, I rang the airfield and they told me that Doncaster council now have responsibility over the airfield.
The council then said that I need to refer to the CAA for flight rules and restrictions.

A couple of us, flew there on Remembrance Sunday 2024 and there was no issues.

Several different types of DJI drones (Avata’s, Neo’s, Mini’s) plus self built FPVs.

Thanks for this :+1:t3:

Hi, a bit late to the thread but is the Doncaster airfield currently operational?
I need to do some filming in the area next week and a local photographer has told me drone flying is prohibited.
Can you shed any light on the restrictions?
Thanks
