Is it better to upload my videos or paste a shortcut from my youtube videos?

You can upload photos directly with no issues, but for videos we recommend you upload to Vimeo or YouTube first, then simply paste the URL on a line on it’s own and it’ll auto-embed the player for you.
Just to add to the excellent advice from @PingSpike, the upload limit if you upload to the site direct is 50mb
