Using battery voltage 'sense' pin to power FC?

So looking at the ESC I’ve just received, the primary output is 5V, but there’s a pin for battery voltage ‘sensing’, could I wire this as the vbat in for the FC or is there a risk it’s not designed to carry the current that the FC might draw?

The FC has an inbuilt BEC so supplies its own 5V supply and only wants VBAT from the ESC. Otherwise I could just wire a jumper from the battery to the FC directly

Edit - The BEC on the ESC is only rated for half an amp so just going to give it a go running off the bat pin and will update if it seems to work

That’s what is normally done these days.

It used to be that FCs didn’t have their own BECs so had to rely on the ESC. They do now…
