What’s new from DJI

Not keen on the pocket due the price, as I am not yet convinced I would use it that much.

You can from the 2 too, but, at least for iPhones, when the phone is correctly positioned, the port is blocked. The 3 doesn’t block either end.

That and the bulkiness to transport are my main objections, which the 3 solves, but it’s still a faff to get out, mount phone, each time you want to use - if you’re doing a longer bunch of filming it’s more practical.

The mini seems much more practical in general, but as you say, it’s 3 times the price, and you’re stuck with the camera on it, rather than being able to upgrade as you upgrade your phone.

That’s what is was thinking, especially as I am about to upgrade my iPhone and would have to make sure I had a larger memory capacity to have the space for the video.

I bought an Osmo Mobile 2 and use it with a Galaxy Note 8 which is quite a big phone. Works very well except when it is the sort of windy that keeps drones grounded. Then the Note catches the gusts and overcomes the gimbal motors. I’ve also got a GoPro mount for the Osmo - a weighted plastic slab that the GoPro sits at the other end to the counterweight but I haven’t tried it yet.

The video is just a test, getting used to using the Osmo. Although the wee doggie has been on a film set before she wasn’t taking direction too well this particular morning.

Your dog is adorable
