I’ve flown using a cheap and very cheerful 7" Bush Spira B2 tablet (£80 at Argos with HDMI out for goggles), not awfully bright but adequate for most days in the UK. It is quite flimsy though…
I’ve also used the Nvidia Shield, Samsung S7, Samsung Note 8 and currently the Epson Moverio glasses and a 7.85" HB CS all of which run Android and the only one that ever crashed was the S7, once. The rest have been rock solid
